Larping as Other: Part one of a three-part series.

In LARPs, we don’t just play characters that are different from us, we
become them for a few hours. We might dress like our characters, we
might try to talk like them, we embody them. So is it okay to play a
black person in black face? What if you were playing a Drow? What’s
the difference? How do we mindfully portray characters be they fantasy
or more based in reality? Assuming few people play in LARPs to hurt or
offend others, how do we recover from poor costuming choices?
